Launch of Libra Colour and Clara Colour e-readers by Kobo -

Canadien company Rakuten Kobo Inc. also referred to as Kobo is quite a popular platform for its e-ink e-readers along with services of software and subscription. Finally, the company has set foot in the world of e-readers with the use of coloured e-ink displays. The new Libra Colour and Clara Colour have displays based on Kobo-optimized Kaleido 3.

Both coloured Readers can be repaired and offer a rating of IPX8 which means you can submerge them into around 2 meters of water almost for an hour.

Kobo Libra Colour

Kobo Libra Colour is the first 7-inch device of the company which supports notebooks, and ebook annotations and also allows the users to sync files to Dropbox and Google Drive. It is also compatible with Kobo Stylus 2 offering users an onboard storage of 32GB which as per the company can store up to 150 audiobooks or 24,000 eBooks.

If the Kobo Libra Colour is fully charged for 30 minutes of reading power day along with the brightness set to 30% and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned off, the device will last 40 days for use.

Kobo Clara Colour

The next launch by the company, Kobo Clara Colour is equipped with a 6-inch coloured display offering internal storage of 16 GB to the users. In this storage, the users can store around 75 Kobo audiobooks or 12,000 eBooks to listen to and read. Like Kobo Libra Colour, Kobo Clara Colour can last up to a few weeks on a single charge of both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are turned off and the front light is set to 10% brightness.

An announcement about an upgraded version of Kobo Clara BW was also made by the company which has the capacity to offer more storage along with a faster processor.

Summary

The price of both devices are nearly the same, Kobo Libra Colour is available for users at $219.99 whereas users can get Kobo Clara Colour at $149.99. However, the company still hasn’t cleared if these eReaders will be available for the users for purchase in India, hence users need to wait a little longer for confirmation.
